About Northview

Owned and operated by Jay and Melanie Douglas for over 20 years, Northview Quarter Horses is nestled on 29 acres in upstate NY near the small town of Chateaugay. The farm has grown over the years into a thriving business dedicated to its clients by providing quality service and care.

Melanie is the driving force behind the training and showing program with much of her time dedicated to helping her Youth and Non-Pro riders get the most out of their horses. Her philosophy is based on the idea that if you invest a lot of time and energy in something you should be able to enjoy it. And that enjoyment for her clients comes from setting and attaining goals in the show pen.

Jay, a Non-Pro, helps out with the day-to-day operations and oversees the maintenance of the farm. He can usually be found developing one of their young offspring for the show pen or tooling around in his woodworking/welding shop.

In 1994, Jay and Melanie took a trip to Florida, which resulted in the purchase of their Kay Cee Leaguer stallion Totally Exposed from Susan and Stanley Scott.

With "Wyatt", Melanie and Jay are committed to producing quality horses through their breeding program as well as helping clients achieve their goals in the show ring.
